Lee's Lowdown on PEZ: Cyclists are hard as F**k!

I usually love your rants … However, I am not sure of the message being presented by attacking another sport in order to build up cycling. Especially a sport that seems to have at least secured it's financial future.

Sure, the diving in football is ridiculous. The obvious faked injuries and laughable rolling around. It is one of the few areas of the game that is deplorable. And something that always should be worked out of the sport. But the governing bodies continue to do little to encourage it's elimination. Players could be punished. But they aren't. Sponsors and fans are mostly happy and money rolls in.

Meanwhile, in cycling, we cannot even guarantee that teams will exist year in and year out. The image of the sport stays in tatters concerning doping and cheating. Races make money yet the actual athletes fight to survive.

Yes, cyclist are tough. Hard. Incredibly brave. Sometimes to a fault or their own detriment. So -- build on that. And leave the rest on the roadside.

And keep on writing about this amazing sport.
